About L & N Equine

L & N Equine is setting new standards of quality and service for the equine industry in Lexington, KY.  We offer the utmost care and training to our clients from their horse’s first steps into their golden years.  While we do not limit ourselves to a single discipline, we specialize in training Thoroughbred racehorses from the ground up and cater to the Eventing, Dressage, and Hunter/Jumper crowds as well.

Our methods are kind, our voices are soft, and our techniques are tried and true.  We offer an array of excellent references and employ only the best equine professionals to shoe, medically treat, and feed our clients horses as well as our own.  Each and every day, we take a very hands on approach to caring for the horses on our farm and in our training programs.  We do not contract out the care of our clients horses and ensure each horse’s health and happiness with our own eyes and hands.

We sit astride each horse for each training ride and see the bright eyes and flared nostrils of each and every individual every morning and every evening.  We do not believe in beating, intimidating, or forcing our horses into submission.  While we demand respect from our horses and carefully monitor the safety of both horse and rider, we strive to encourage each horse to grow into their individual personalities andwe  take every measure necessary to ensure that the breaking and training process is stress and trauma free.

We encourage our clients and owners to be very involved in the training of their horses and we welcome our clients and owners on our farm and at the track to watch their horses work as often as possible.  Both Sam and I have extensive experience with a variety of different trainers and schools of thought and we combine our diverse experiences into a streamlined training program that we feel most benefits the horses, keep them sound and happy, and capitalizes on their natural talents.  We would like to thank you for your interest in L & N Equine and encourage you to contact us with any questions you may have regarding our programs or any training or boarding inquiries you may have.
